Our goal is zero waste
Raven is a non-profit social enterprise committed to the environment and community. Since 1989, Raven has been a leader in advocating for Zero Waste systems at both the community and government levels and providing access to options to support a Zero Waste way of life. From 2011-21, Raven has helped divert nearly 34,000 tonnes of waste
That may sound like a lot of tonnes but the weight is not the important part. Diverting waste is about preventing land from being consumed with waste; preventing land, water, wildlife and people from being poisoned; and keeping our natural environment from being destroyed in the production of new things. More than a Recycling Depot
We run the largest recycling facility in the Yukon. But recycling is not all that we do. After many years of advocating for a new, more stable recycling system, we are able to set our sights higher up the waste management hierarchy. Raven ReCentre is more than a rebrand. We are working to provide more options for reuse, repair, repurposing and rethinking. We are grateful to serve a community that is dedicated to the environment, and excited to work with community members, organizations and other stakeholders on new solutions and programs.
